Industrial Parks

The current industrial property development framework in Afghanistan is inadequate. It relies on public sector planning, development, and management of zoned industrial areas, a responsibility for which the public sector does not have adequate resources. There are 21 industrial parks planned in 17 provinces, which 7 are established in the 1960s and 1970s, without necessary infrastructure and proper management.

The Industrial Parks Development Department of AISA endeavors to develop and offer modern, strategically located, well-managed, regulated and attractive Industrial Parks. Its currently concluded projects include the Bagrami Industrial Park, a 24 hectare (52.8 acres) park located 7 km east of central Kabul; Mazar Industrial Park, a 26 hectare (57.2 acres) park located 7 km north of Mazar-e-Sharif; Kandahar Industrial Park, a 15 hectare (33 acres) park located 10 km east of Kandahar. These project were funded by USAID.

A second phase is also underway, which includes Industrial Parks in Kamari, a 120 hectares park located 13 km from central Kabul. Hisar-e-Shahi Industrial Park, a 200 hectare park located 22 Km South East of Jalalabad city. The World Bank has provided $ 25 million to AISA for the development of the latter two parks.

AISA is committed to establish industrial parks in other provinces of Afghanistan in response to growing demand for these parks. Our future plan includes industrial parks in Helmand, Khost, Kunduz, Ghazni and Farah.

Our industrial park projects represent a unique opportunity for investors to establish and expand their business in Afghanistan’s increasingly important market and profitable business environment while enjoying the benefits of attractive tax incentives and versatile and low cost workforce.
