The Industrial Parks Development Authority under the Afghanistan High Commission for Investment is pleased to offer modern, strategically located, well-managed, regulated and attractive Industrial Parks. Current projects include the Bagrami Industrial Park, a 24 hectare (52.8 acres) park located 7 km east of central Kabul; Mazar Industrial Park, a 26 hectare (57.2 acres) park located 7 km north of Mazar-e-Sharif; Kandahar Industrial Park, a 15 hectare (33 acres) park located 10 km east of Kandahar. This project is being funded by USAID and is being constructed by Technologists Inc, and Afghan-American Consultancy. A second phase is also underway, which includes Industrial Parks in Kamari, a 120 hectares park located 13 km from central Kabul; Sinjet Dara Industrial Park, a 120 hectare park located 7 km south of Charikar; Deh Sabz Industrial Park, a 750 hectare park located 5 km north of Kabul Airport. The Government of Afghanistan has provided $ 20 million at the disposal for the Industrial Parks Development Authority to construct these parks. The second phase will also be funded through the sales and lease of the plots of the first three industrial parks. The construction of the second round will commence at the beginning of 2005 and an announcement will be made shortly on who will construct them.
